Inside the Archive at 666 Greenwich Street

A Portrait of the West Village

A Rockrose property, The Archive at 666 Greenwich is a landmark building, originally built in the West Village in 1899 as the United States Appraisers’ Warehouse before becoming a residential building in 1988. MdeAS Architects reimagined its amenities, pairing the historic architecture with a distinctly contemporary design.

In the lounge, tinted charcoal brick and satin-finish walnut create a warm, sophisticated setting for a collection of iconic photographs celebrating the West Village’s creative legacy.

The curated collection features West Village legends including Patti Smith, Lou Reed and Jimi Hendrix.

With integrated lighting highlighting the photographs against the walnut feature wall, the artwork brings the neighborhood’s rich musical history into the space—connecting The Archive’s past with the culture that continues to define the West Village today.

A fresh approach to fine art

SETS US APART

  • Artist-Driven Philosophy

We prioritize the photographers behind the images. Their stories, craft and creative rights remain central to our mission.

  • Hand-Signed Works Only

We work directly with photographers and their families. Every photograph in the gallery carries an authentic signature and verified provenance.

  • Curated with Intention

We curate images that feel alive. Moments charged with sweat, noise, energy and unfiltered creative intensity.
